What makes a good salon great? A great salon pampers its clients, makes them feel relaxed and welcome. A great salon tends to every need of the client making sure they are serviced quickly, efficiently without making them feel rushed or in the way. The client should feel that they have the…

I hear you…Haircult is for you.

I have hear people of going back to their home countries be it 2000 km or 10 000 km away (viz flying from Helsinki to Vilnius or Helsinki to Singapore) to get their haircut.  Finding a solution for this is tough but hopefully there is one.

as long as i live in germany, i vow never to cut my hair in germany.

i put it off long enough but because my hair is totally damaged, i had to at least cut the split ends, which is what i told the woman.

i came out with a farrah fawcett-faceframe-mullet bullshit!

i just said cut the split ends you idiot.

i give up on hair salons and doctors in germany, for real, I GIVE UP!

I like Pinterest and value concept.

Could be a potential user of Haircult.  I won’t go into the rest of the technology what we are making but these are the type of people that we want.  Read her post.

I’m getting older. There are many life lessons I’ve learned along the way. One of the many “adult” lessons is prioritizing my money and buying legitimate household products and such. What? what? what? I used to hate that stuff. Canadian Tire? LAME! Home Depot? ( ok I still don’t like it, I’m…
Groom Rock Haircut Experience

A block from Tavastia is Groom Rock.  A block from the famous club where bands like Nick Cave, Tom Waits and awesome Finnish acts like Hanoi Rocks played at one time a hair salon stands that cuts rocking hair.  It is a fitting place for a city that has so many heavy metal and rock bands per capita.  Any salon that knows something about of what the clients want is a great salon.  Two of the three girls working there had rad fiery red hair and wore jeans with studded belts.  I felt the girl with long red hair, a nose piercing and tattoos would kick my ass when I walked in.  She said ‘terve’ (welcome in Finnish) and told me to sit for minute.  Metal people are like that hard on the outside and overall totally friendly.  I remembered metal people are nerds too.

For some reason when I am going to get a haircut I forget that they wash your hair first.  Gentle wash with shampoo, nice.  The water is the perfect temperature.  Then a rinse and a lather with some conditioner, nice.  More rinse.  Then, what’s this, ohhh.  It is tough for me to get a head massage because I almost feel like I am cheating on my girlfriend so I can’t relax.  But it feels, soooo good.  I am almost in a trance while the music in the background fades.  Soo good.  I almost fall asleep then I am awoken with a towel cover my tingling head.  I need more head massages.  (Can I pay for that?)

Unfortunately, I did not ask for any Rockabilly or anything out of a Glam Hair band but just a close shave.   For my hair the stylist said that was a good option.  This is where it comes in handy to know about the clients.  She probably had a couple of other guys that like to rock out but the hair did not survive the extent of the concert if you catch my drift.  So a good alternative is to shave it close and all around.  She tied the napkin tight around my neck (this is important otherwise those fragments of hair will get under there and itch like hell).  Then started to shave away.  When she was finished she was like ‘I did a slight fade’.  She was good.  For someone that just started doing this five months ago she knew what people wanted.  Also she talked about some bands she saw.

Groom rock is awesome.  They don’t just have the sterile, vacuumed atmosphere that a lot of other salons have but they have style. Customers notice when the hairdressers like the same bands as you they most likely can communicate a decent haircut.
